Imprint in life 生命印記

This is in memory of a friend. I only met her few times and the last time I saw her, she was sitting on a chair outdoor and quietly enjoying the sunshine without a word.

I took these photos in an early morning in India. I saw beautiful footprints of an old man and his dog but very soon the wave came and washed away everything. I felt immediate loss and emptiness that it seems nothing is permanent no matter how hard we try to make an impression in life.

After saying goodbye to her today, I thought of these photos again and felt more positive about them. After the wave washing away the past footprints, the beach is as smooth as silk and shining under the sunlight.

We are not only the physical body but also the soul. For the soul, we can always have a brand new start.

紀念一個朋友。我只見過她幾次，而最後一次見面，她坐在戶外的一個椅子上，靜靜地享受陽光，不發一語。

這些照片是我在印度時的一個早晨拍攝的。一個老人和他的狗正漫步在沙灘上，他們所留下的足跡吸引著我的目光。很快地，海浪沖刷走那美麗的印記，我頓時感到失落，彷彿世間沒有什麼是永恆的。

今天跟她說再見後，我再度想到了這幾張照片，但是感到一種重生的希望。在浪潮沖刷過後，過去的足跡已不復見，但沙灘有如絲綢般平滑，閃耀著朝日光輝。

我們不僅擁有著軀體，更有著靈魂。對於靈魂而言，我們永遠可以重新開始。
